This is your brain, on set.

“Start New Game”

As a child I watched Spielberg and played my Sega Master System; growing up I watched Cameron and played my Sega Genesis; and when I came of age it was Nolan, Aronofsky and Fincher while playing on my Sega Saturn and Playstation 2.

As an adult I’m pretty much doing the same thing – except, the movies feel the same, and the games just keep getting better.

The way I figure it… my life was just as shaped by Lord of the Rings as it was by Final Fantasy 7, as much by Saving Private Ryan as it was by Call of Duty, and as much by Aliens as it was by Halo.

I used to work in movies, and I kinda still do.

I used to watch a lot of movies, and I kinda still do.

I used to play a lot of video games, and I definitely still do.

My name is Nathan James, I’m an aspiring storyteller, a former film-worker, and a full-time gamer. I really just want to watch the worst sci-fi, the biggest, stupidest blockbusters and play the weirdest video games and then prattle off a report to total strangers. Enjoyably, my old chum David McGinnis has given me a chance to do this.

I look forward to an excuse to write.

I look forward to saying silly things about serious things, and serious things about silly things.

I look forward to being a part of the fellowship.

There ain’t no gettin’ offa this train we’re on!

    1. Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That’s what’s important! Valor pleases you, Crom… so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!
