2015 proved to be an interesting year for film. A lot of prestige projects by renowned directors disappointed, or came in under expectations making them much easier to admire for their ambitions if not their execution.
Bloody cowboys and sentient robots. Arid deserts and snowy peaks. Beautiful love stories and brutal tales of survival. 2015’s great films offer a little bit of everything.
The best movies of the year took us into the past, the future, deep space, and inside the human mind.
